Racehorse Runs 2 Miles Down Highway After Escaping Its Pen Fun Love

A racehorse started his own race on Sunday by escaping his pen and galloping down a highway in Ohio.

The horse, named Quik Groom, was practicing at Northfield Park when he freed himself from his gate and took off down Route 8, Fox 8 reported.

A driver was able to capture Quik Groom galloping by as he heads off into the sunset.

Northfield Police Chief Mark Wentz told the Nordonia Hills News-Leader that Quik Groom eventually got his cart caught in a snow bank, giving officers a chance to corral him.


The horse apparently took off because he got spooked, but is now safely back in his pen, according to ABC 5.



"I've been here 27 years and this is the first time I've ever seen a horse escape like that," mutual manager Jeff Stark told ABC 5. "Security is pretty good...it went right through the gate and there was nothing they could do to stop it."
