The Bronx Zoo Now Has Tiny Blue Penguins Fun Love
We repeat: little penguins.
New York's Bronx Zoo has a new colony of little penguins, an actual species you need to be aware exists.
It's the first time the species (Eudyptula minor) has ever been at the zoo, and only three facilities in the whole U.S. have them. These little guys are hanging out at the Aquatic Bird House.

Little penguins are the smallest of the 18 penguin species, with adults measuring a little over a foot and weighing a mere 2–3 pounds.
Squeal warning: The species is also known as blue penguins, little blue penguins, and fairy penguins.

The penguins were hatched at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo and brought over to boost genetic diversity in the U.S. little penguin population.
They're basically tiny ambassadors.

If you can't make it to the zoo, here's a snippet of them flooping into some water.
As natives to coastal southern Australia and New Zealand, they generally prefer cozy sand dunes or beachy areas.
