This Newborn Rockhopper Penguin Will Brighten Your Day Immensely Fun Love
Just a little baby bundle of feathers!
"Hello World!" Meet the newest addition to the Shedd Aquarium family, this little rockhopper penguin who hatched on June 9, 2015.

This handful of joy, also known as #23 for now, was welcomed to this world by parents Edward and Annie.

Weighing only 200 grams, #23 won't be teeny for long. Penguins grow very quickly and Baby Rockhopper will be full grown in two to three months!

Rockhopper penguins don't show any observable differences between sexes, so our friends at Shedd Aquarium will have to wait a year to find out if their chick is a boy or girl.
"The chick doesn't have a gender", says a press release from the aquarium. When the penguin turns one, they will be able to use genetic testing to determine if #23 is male or female.
